Kim Delaney was an American actress. The actress is best known for her role as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is best known for her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. As a child she longed to be a reporter for the court. But after she graduated from high school, and moving in New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent in All My Children, a soap-opera from 1981. Since then, Delaney has been featured in many films television movies and dramas. Contrary to her career success, her personal life is not happy and prosperous. The skilled actor had to battle alcoholism, and has had two divorces. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
