Anushka Sharma has been involved in a variety of brand-related campaigns since she made her Lakme Fashion Week debut. They include ads for Fiat Palio and Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling profession, enrolled in an acting academy and started giving auditions for movies. Anushka Sharma began her film career in 2008, with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The actress took time to get ready and did not take the test in impromptu. She was later contracted to do three movies with the Yash Raj Films label. In the film, she played a young woman who got married to a middle-aged man (the character Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared with Shahid Kapoor, Vi Das as well as Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". The movie got mixed reviews. Anushka was also seen alongside Ranveer in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' in which she played the role of a Punjabi middle class woman who set up her own company. The movie got positive reviews. With Band Baaja Baaraat Anushka's three-film deal under the Yash Raj Films banner was complete.
