Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. Later that year her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna was signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. She released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared as a guest on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles called The No One and Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16th, and released the song as a solo single on her first album. A music video debuted on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December 2018 the singer was a part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
